CyberCrop on Tonight...

I`m getting ready for what promises to be a fun night of scrapping over at Scraptacular. Just in case you don`t know what a CyberCrop (CC)is, it`s a great way to get together with like-minded people & scrap, only it`s done over the web (great if you like to scrap in PJs LOL) It`s free, & all you need is computer access (to chat, & to upload your creations to the gallery), & you can chat & scrap (or chat & get nothing else done LOL) In short, you can do as much or as little as you feel like doing, all from the comfort of your own home, so if you`re looking for something to do tonight, check it out. I`m hoping to get some LOs done, wish me luck... LOL

Some More ATCs

I thought I would add a couple more ATCs to my blog, these were made for my Yahoo group as well. The first one with the Monalisa image was for June`s theme of art/artists. The second image was for the month of July, the theme being Crowns.
For August, the theme was Circus/Carnival, so I got out my trusty Cuttlebug embosser & went crazy with the Kindy Glitz LOL. The last one was done as a return, the image of the bodyform is from a NonSequitor plate (a favourite), it has a bit of beautiful vintage cotton lace I picked up at the Packing House Antique Store in Mornington.
I absolutely LOVE making these little creations, & the fact that each one is so different...& I know that every time I take part in a swap, the ATCs I get back are beautiful little works of art, & each one is an endless well filled with ideas & possibilities, so long live ATCs, & just in case you don`t know what ATCs are, it`s an acronym for Artist Trading Cards. If you`d like to know more, check out this link http://www.cedarseed.com/air/atc.html It`s one of the most informative articles I`ve come across on the subject. That`s it for now, if you`ve read this whole post I`m sorry I didn`t put a "Warning: Long Post Ahead", I`ll save that for the next post LOL. In the meantime, like the song says "Don`t Worry, Be Happy..." (& don`t blame me if that song is playing over & over in your head now) TTFN
P.S. Moodiesfan left this link for me, http://www.altered-art.net/ Go check it out, lots of great information there too. Thanks Moodiesfan for the great link.

Busy Day

I`ve had a busy day...not LOL. I had to do some creating today for an ATC group I`m a member of. The theme for the month of September is Bi-folds, so I did my ATCs with an opening at the front. The main image is from an Oxford Impressions plate aptly named "Scandalous Beauty", & although it`s hard to see in my scan, there is also the word "smile" on what looks like a blank space... The first image is the ATC closed, & the one next to it is the open ATC, now I`m off to clean up. If you`ve been reading my posts I`d like to thank you, & a bigger thank you if you`ve actually taken the time to leave me a comment, Bye 4 now.

Here`s my entry to this month`s flower theme over at Inkurable Stampers. I stamped the diamond pattern (from a set by Technique Tuesday) onto white card using Marvy Matchables red ink, I then stamped the flowers (from a Clear Expressions by Hampton Art set) using Stazon, cut, & painted them using Twinkls H2Os, & covered them in DM, adding the tiny rhinestones, The torso is an oldie, but favourite of mine from My Stamps, which I stamped, cut out, painted with silver acrylic paint, & added some Embossing powder, & red ink to the edges, the sentiment is one from TSQ (a recent purchase) Off to clean up my messy craft table. I just realized I forgot to let Sarah know I now have a blog...

Competition

I`m officially an entrant into Scraptacular`s "So You Think You Can Scrap"competition, you can check it out by clicking on the blinkie in the side bar (don`t know why it won`t fit in there properly!) The comp starts on September 3rd, goes for 12 week & the prizes are fantastic. I only remembered last friday, & one of the criteria is that you must have a blog...Luckily that`s now been taken care of LOL.

Tree stamp

Just a quick post tonight, went to my local scrapping shop Scraptacular, on friday night & got a few bits`n`pieces, & a new set of tree stamps from Autumn Leaves (there`s 9 trees in the set), which came in very handy yesterday when I decided to make a card for my SIL & family to congratulate them on their beautiful new home...I used Adirondak ink for the trees (aren`t they gorgeous?) & I drew the little house with metallic pens, a little bit of organza ribbon, & it was done. I know I`ll be using this set of stamps quite a bit.

Hello Again...

No, I haven`t disappeared from blogland...just had a nice break & went to Sydney for a week. Had a lovely time cruising the harbour, doing a spot of shopping at Manly (DD loved all the surf stores, especially Roxy) checking out the Opera House, the craft market at The Rocks, as well as visiting the huge Aquarium at Darling Harbour (which was just being built the last time we holidayed in Sydney) Such a beautiful city, & the public transport there is so much more efficient than our own here in Melbourne.
Anyway, I`ve been busy catching up on ATCs, I have this lot that were created for a swap hosted by yours truly, & mailed back on my first day back...
The first one is the one I made (with the can-can dancer), the second one was made by Peter C, the third one is Conny`s, next up on the left hand sideof the bottom row we have Judith`s, followed by Mez`s, & last but not least is Jude`s. The theme was Advice, & as you can see they are all gorgeous...The swap was run through the SBT50 forum, & we are all members there.
Next up I have a couple of JAM swaps that I have been volunteered for (Thanks Helen LOL) I like doing these, as it`s a collaboratory work between 3 people, where we each add something to the ATCs, & here`s 2 I prepared earlier... The 1st one was such a lovely image, I just added the word LOVE & used some metallic thread to do the large stitches on the side. The second one was a little harder for me as I wasn`t sure what it needed, but as soon as I thought "love my cat" the cogs started to turn, & next thing I knew I had a crown for the cat LOL.(I also added the card trim, the tiny heart & the paw print) Jean P, & Helen C are the other 2 collaborators.

An Interesting Book

Two posts in the one day, I can`t believe it myself LOL, but I just had to share this book which I`ve just finished reading... The title is "Messages From the Fridge" by Lynn Champion, an Australian motivational speaker, & the concept behind the book is the fact that she shares & explains some of the favourite quotes she displays on her fridge. It seems such a simple concept really, I mean I`m sure I`m not the only one who collects quotes (& if you happen to be a scrapbooker, it`s almost a pre-requisite LOL) Some of those quotes are inspirational, some quirky, some just plain funny, but what really got to me was the fact that she displays hers on the fridge door, to share with everyone in her household, & all who visit as well...What a fantastic idea! One of my favourite quotes from the book is "You teach people how to treat you"...such a simple but powerful message, don`t you think? & I bet you all thought I only read craft-related magazines LOL

Tagged?

...I`ve been tagged by Jude (I only found out about it today, while catching up on her blog).

Ten years ago:
August 1998 - DD was only 8 months old, & we were struggling with her sleeping pattern (or lack thereof...LOL) so I was just as now, a SAHM, only infinately more tired & irritable, & walking around like a zombie... (Hmm much the same come hayfever time )

Five Things on Today’s To-Do List:
Who am I kidding, I`d have to be organized to have a "to do" list in the first place LOL, but here is my day so far...

1. Get my nails done

2. drop off ink cartridges (to be refilled) for printer

3. Pack for our trip to Sydney

4. Wait by the letterbox on the offchance that Jude posted her ATCs to me, so I can do the returns b4 we leave for Sydney

5. Organize some dinner as we`re not going out tonight...
Snacks I Enjoy: Microwaved popcorn, BBQ shapes, coffee, Zero Coke

Things I Would Do If I Was a Millionaire:
I`d hire a full-time cook/chef...I`d have a holiday house in Spain, one in Italy & one in France, (& one in Qld too LOL), but then I`d have to be a multimillionaire...

Places (or areas) I Have Lived: Valparaiso & Vina Del Mar in Chile, Melbourne, & Sydney
4 People I am Tagging: (who hopefully haven’t already been tagged)

Lyn

Sandie

Wirg

I`m only doing 3 as the other bloggers I know have been tagged...

A Busy Weekend

A very busy weekend in our household...but I still managed to do a couple of LOs & a card for the SBT50 CC (CC stands for CyberCrop for those of you who don`t know) There was one more challenge, but I ran out of time & didn`t have the photos required, but it was such a great idea, that I`ve decided to go ahead & do it as soon as I get the right photos. In the meantime here are my 2 LOs & card. I have been busy creating other bits & pieces, but can`t share just yet...

Pinch, Punch, 1st of the Month...

Where has this year gone? Tomorrow is DH`s b`day, & it feels like time has just flown...next thing you know I`ll be talking about the good ol`days LOL, with a rug over my knees & a huge mug of cocoa in my hands LOL.

Well, here`s something I whipped up last night, in between making dinner, baking some yummy choc-chip bikkies, & playing my favourite game of charades with DD. I`d like to thank Maevan for reminding me there was a reason for me to add more stamps to my stash (other than because they are soooo cute LOL), so here it is...
I used the new pad of pp (which I hadn`t realized is self-adhesive) from DCWV, & the set of owl stamps is from Hero Arts, which I got from the Q & C fair the other day, & the images are coloured in with gel pens & watecolour pencils, I hope you like...
