Happy Birthday, Simon Says Challenge Blog

I had a bit of time this morning, seeing as I woke up "early" (end of daylight saving!!) so I checked out a few of the challenge blogs I like to participate in (though I haven't had much time to lately) and the first one I came across was the "Simon Says Challenge Blog"...They are celebrating their 4th year, so their current challenge ties in quite nicely, it is "Happy Birthday"
And here is my card, using a Penny Black stamp (main image), a Darkroom Door stamp set (sentiment), Derwent Inktense watercolour pencils, a black fineliner(for the hand-drawn frame), Archival ink (jet black) and some Prima pp.

If you get a chance to play along have a look HERE, there are some great prizes up for grabs...
Until next time, thanks for visiting and have a great Sunday  : )

Found Cards

Here are a couple of cards I've just come across in my computer...they were made for CRAFT QUEEN, using lots of different products from the CRAFT QUEEN site.

As you can see, a good variety, and all of them using Darkroom Door's Background stamps...
While I'm on the subject of Darkroom Door stamps...a little while back I was one of the lucky winners of a giveaway over at Rachel's blog, and got to pick a set of stamps of my choice, I have to admit it was so hard to choose (I want them ALL) but I decided on the Carved Flowers set as I had already picked up a couple of the other sets at the last craft show...so Thank you Rachel for picking me as one of the winners, I love the images and products you create for us to play with...
Well, that's it for me on this, the first day of the month, happy April Fool's Day : )

Away With The Fairies...

I have been away from my computer quite a lot lately, just too busy with other things, but I have been busy creating samples for Nicole (CRAFT QUEEN)  and here is a sneak-peek:

If you get a chance to go to the show here in Melbourne, you'll be able to see them in real life : )
I've made a few cards as well as some fun tags, all using gorgeous new embellishments from CRAFT QUEEN, including some fab new washi tapes, new background stamps, and some fun metallic look flowers...
And, did you know CRAFT QUEEN is one of the main sponsors of this year's classes?    Have a look HERE for all the information about the show, and HERE for some great classes available (CRAFT QUEEN sponsored classes are being run in rooms 1 and 2, and you need to hurry to book before all spots are gone!!!)
I'll be going to the show on Sunday, and I plan to pick up some new DARKROOM DOOR stamps as well as some other new goodies...I hope to see you there : )

Photostamp Playing

I can't believe it is December already!!!    I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels like this year has absolutely flown by...One of our traditions is to always put the Christmas tree up on the first day of December, but this year has been so busy, here we are on the 3rd day already and the tree is still to make an appearance  : )
Have you had a chance to see the beautiful new stamps Darkroom Door has released?   You can see them HERE and HERE .    Rachel sent me a couple of stamps to play with (you can see the previous post to have a look at what I created with the Numbers background stamp) and I see she has a new post today with the projects I created for her using the Central Park Photostamp...have a look HERE

I'm off to have dinner and maybe even put up a Christmas tree...thanks for visiting, see you again soon.

And a couple of cards made for Craft Queen using a new favourite of mine (and I'm sure I'm not the only one collecting these little spools of goodness), washi tape.

The last photo is just a sneak, as Nicole hasn't shown the card in her blog yet...

Tags and Buttons

Hello again, I have a couple of cards to share which I've made using goodies sent to me by Nicole, of CRAFT QUEEN.      For the first card I've used THIS great tag (kraft on one side and black on the other, I sanded the edges on the black side) and I used a Collections chipboard butterfly, covered in some Prima pp.    The words are also from Collections, and can be found HERE, and the ribbons are HERE, HERE,  and HERE.

For the second card, I had a bit of fun adding ink to one of THESE wooden buttons... I know Nicole has oodles of beautiful buttons in stock, but how great is it to be able to match the colour as needed! I think it's great that the button took the colour so well (I used StaZon rust ink)
I have again used some of that Prima pp, a Collections word, mesh ribbon, grosgrain ribbon, and the butterfly has been cut out of THIS Collections transparency sheet.

Thanks for visiting me,

Washi Tape Tag

So...How many rolls of washi tape have you got in your stash?   I bet it happens to be more than 2 or 3, and just like me, you're probably wondering how to use them...  I had a bit of a play with a couple of rolls yesterday, and this is what I came up with:

I used the chevron tape to partly cover a kraft tag (carefully lining up the pattern), I also used the green stripe tape to cover a Collections chipboard heart, added the Collections word (sponged with Distress ink) and the gorgeous owl ribbon.    The brown glittery ribbon is HERE

March Right In...

Can anybody tell me what happened to February?   I have a list that's getting bigger by the minute that should have had a few items crossed off by now, but the month just ran away from me!!!!
A new month means a new challenge over at CRAFT QUEEN blog, and this month you have a choice of 2 sketches, one provided by Liz, and the other provided by Petrina.
I've used Liz's sketch for my sample, but I also want to have a go with Petrina's sketch, so that's now going on my "to do" list...stay tuned is all I can say : )

Here is my card:  I used a kraft coloured card base, a die-cut from THIS Kaiser paper pad, THIS mesh ribbon, THIS new crepe ribbon, the sentiment is a stamp from THIS set, and I have also used THIS background stamp on the white cs strips.      The butterflies are punchies made with THIS punch and coated with some KG

For all the details on the new challenge and to see the beautiful samples the rest of the DT members have come up with check out the blog post HERE, and make sure you go over to the CRAFT QUEEN store and see all the gorgeous stock newly arrived HERE.

Thank you for visiting me, I hope to see you again soon...

Swapping Much?

I've just mailed this month's Darkroom Door ATC swaps (you can find all the details for the current swap HERE) and as usual, I forgot to take a photo of the actual ATC!   But I did remember to take a photo of the Thank You card I included...

I haven't played with Stampbord tiles in a long while, so I went ahead and used one as the centrepiece for this card.
I covered the tile with StaZon ink (teal) and stamped the flower from THIS set of Darkroom Door stamps, and the sentiment from THIS set.   I then used my scratch tool to add the highlights to the images, and then gave the tile a coat of DM for the glossy finish.

I then used some Distress ink (vintage photo) and the splatter image from THIS set of stamps, and stamped it onto my base card to create the background.
I just love the new WEBBY RIBBONS from CRAFT QUEEN, so I used some of it to anchor the image to the front of the card.    The butterflies were punched out of wc paper and text using THIS punch.

I so enjoy making ATCs and receiving the beautiful returns, it's a great way to share your own creativity, and a fabulous way to see how others use the beautiful images... If you get a chance, why not take part?     Thank you for visiting, I hope you come back soon   : )
